AHA Participates in Conference with White House Officials on Immigration Reform

The American Humanist Association recently participated in a conference call held by White House Officials regarding the President’s Call to Action on Immigration Reform. Joshua DuBois, Director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, lead the discussion, which addressed in great detail the White House initiative to combat immigration fraud. With immigration debate at a fever pitch, immigrants are at a high risk to be victimized by domestic and community abuse, fraudulent scams, and dangerous and unsanitary work environments. A three-tier governmental approach was introduced, which included public education and outreach, increased and sustained enforcement, and continued collaboration with an emphasis on increased access (to resources for endangered or at-risk immigrants).
