From the AHA Archives: Can You Guess These Past Humanists of the Year?

During the 72nd Annual American Humanist Association Conference on May 30-June 2, 2013, Dan Savage will accept the Humanist of the Year award, the latest in a long line of notable and celebrated awardees stretching back to 1953. While some of the more recent recipients are probably well-known to most humanists—for example, Gloria Steinem, 2012; Bill Nye, 2010; Steven Pinker, 2006; Daniel C. Dennett, 2004—you will be likely be pleasantly enlightened to learn who has won the award in the past.

Can you guess who the following 3 past Humanists of the Year are? Identify the name and year they won the Humanist of the Year award & send your answers to hnn@americanhumanist.org, and we’ll enter you in a drawing to win a free book from Humanist Press!
