Local Humanist Groups across the Country Celebrate LGBT Pride Month

Throughout June, chapters and affiliates of the American Humanist Association are celebrating LGBT Pride in multiple ways.

Members of the Humanist Society of Iowa will participate in the Des Moines Gay Pride parade on June 14. To continue the conversation about LGBT rights and the movement towards equality, they are also hosting a presentation by Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) at their next monthly meeting.

Members of CNY Humanists will be decked out in rainbow apparel and accessories. Following the Pride Parade, they are hosting the “Summer Solstice Family Picnic” at Chittenango Falls that will be filled with fun and food.

The Bay Area Humanists will also be marching in the San Francisco Pride Parade on June 28. They will be marching with their “Bay Area Humanists” banner and apparel.

For the fifth year in a row, the Humanists of Idaho will have a booth at their local Pride Festival on June 20. Last year, the Pride Festival in Boise brought in 20,000 people and they expect an even bigger turnout this year! The Humanists of Idaho will also participate in Pride Festival by attending the Pride rally and marching in the parade.
