MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR: I’m an Atheist but I Love Christmas

It’s true—I’m an atheist that loves Christmas. I put my tree up before Thanksgiving, I buy crazy amounts of holiday wrapping paper, and I love walking around DC to see beautiful Christmas displays in store window or hotels. I love the holiday season! Christmas, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice, HumanLight, Kwanzaa—when I get the opportunity, I celebrate them all, and it’s easy to do it from a secular perspective. If you want to join in on the fun, find a local AHA Chapter or Affiliate group celebrating the holidays and make new humanist friends. And if you’re still buying presents for your loved ones, don’t forget that the American Humanist Association is on Amazon Smile—simply use Amazon.com to make your purchases and Amazon will donate a portion of your purchases to the AHA if you name us as a benefitting charity. Same thing goes for eBay’s Giving Works. It’s an easy way to support the causes you care about as you shop for the holidays!
