Dez Jones

Dez Jones is a trans non-binary lesbian making a happy gay home with their fiance and cat in Providence, Rhode Island. After spending the first 18 years of their life in an Evangelical church and the subsequent years deconstructing this religious upbringing, they seek insight into how and why people cling to this form of religion and structure in their lives. They plan on pursuing a Master’s degree in social work and theology, examining intersections of queerness, spirituality, and community. By tracing the origins of these concepts through time and many different cultures, they hope to weave together an approach to spirituality in their practice that includes and uplifts, one that centers accountability, reparative justice, mutual aid, and compassion.
