The Biggest Humanist Event Is Right around the Corner

It’s that time of year again for the AHA’s Annual Conference! Mark your calendar for our virtual event on Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th to enjoy two days of critical inquiry, exploration of social justice issues, and humanism.

If you attended last year’s conference, you know some of what’s in store at our 81st Annual Conference.  In addition to our vibrant sessions and panel discussions, humanists across the country will have a chance to be a part of the action through networking roundtables, personalized profiles, and a host of exhibitors. Discover common interests and make new friends (or connect with old ones) through popular community conversations on the discussion board. The AHA’s Annual Conference is your chance to connect with humanists like you, to feel revitalized and grounded for the year ahead, and to make memories for years to come.

So what makes AHACON so memorable? For many it’s the chance to hear from humanist speakers who bring new ideas or validate and expand on ones you’ve already had. For others, it’s discovering common interests with others through popular community discussion topics. Or maybe it’s the spark of inspiration from the Humanist of the Year. After all, it wouldn’t be an AHA conference if we didn’t take time to honor notable humanist leaders who help cultivate a more progressive society.

As an AHACON22 attendee, your schedule will be full of sessions from incredible speakers, workshops, and discussion panels. And if you’re interested in becoming one of these speakers, apply now. We’re looking for dynamic speakers passionate about humanism who can present on a topic that is of interest to humanists in the United States. Don’t miss your opportunity to immerse yourself in the secular community, meet like-minded people, and gain visibility. Please go here to submit a proposal.

We have more than just two days planned for you. The Conference will kick off with a day filled with hands-on, but virtual, political activism at our second virtual Lobby Day. Humanists have an important part to play in shaping our nation’s politics. At the Virtual Lobby Day, you’ll learn how to lobby lawmakers and apply your new skills in virtual meetings with your member of Congress and/or their staff. And don’t miss your chance to hear from the AHA’s new executive director, Nadya Dutchin, and attend a Conference Kick-off Event on Friday, June 24th.

What makes our Conference so special year after year? You, our readers and supporters. You are the backbone of our community and what makes humanism so strong and meaningful. We hope you’ll attend AHACON22 to not only celebrate the humanist movement, but to celebrate you and the thousands of humanists across the country.

So don’t forget to save the date for AHACON22! Registration information is coming soon. Visit conference.americanhumanist.org for the latest updates.
