Another Way to Compromise

In addition to Mr. Wade's advice, I think that the couple can seek compromise by attending a different denomination's church. Although the husband has abandoned rationality and has become a Christian, there are a great many branches of Christianity that do not have any connection with the branches that support harming the innocent. Perhaps they could join the Unitarian Universalists instead? They are well known for welcoming atheists without preaching to them, and they talk about values rather than dogma.
