MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR: Remembering 9/11

A reporter from National Public Radio contact me recently looking for people who were raised religious but became a humanist or atheist as a result of the tragic events on September 11, 2001. An inquiry of such people was posted on our Facebook page, and it led me to Diqui LaPenta, whose powerful story is shared with you below. As this year marks the tenth anniversary of 9/11, let’s take the time to remember all Americans—both theists and nontheists alike—who were deeply affected by this terrible event. With reason and compassion, we can make this world a better place.
