MESSAGE FROM THE EDITOR: Who Will Be The Next AHA Honorary President?

In the last issue of HNN we mourned the death of the AHA’s honorary president, the prolific writer Gore Vidal, who took the position after Kurt Vonnegut. For a glimpse into Vidal’s humanism, I suggest taking the time to watch his video interview (in seven parts) with Humanist magazine editor Jennifer Bardi and AHA president David Niose.

This means that it’s time to find a new honorary president—a person who is proud to call herself or himself a humanist, a person who has made (or is making) a significant contribution to the betterment of the world, and whose prominence can raise the profile of humanism to new heights. Let us know who you think should be the next AHA Honorary President by sending your suggestions to hnn@americanhumanist.org.
