Take Part in the Project 2025 Week of Action

The Secular Coalition for America is thrilled to announce our Project 2025 Week of Action, running from Tuesday, October 15th to Monday, October 21st. As you may be well aware, Project 2025 is a policy blueprint that, if enacted, will significantly erode church-state separation, abortion access, public education, and government checks and balances. This week offers activists a chance to take impactful steps against the initiatives outlined in Project 2025.

Our Week of Action activities are designed to empower individuals to take concrete steps in resisting the regressive policies outlined in the Project 2025 blueprint. Some key actions you can take include:

1. Verify Your Voter Registration and Make a Plan to Vote: One of the most powerful tools we have is the right to vote. Ensuring that your voter registration is current and valid is the first step in exercising that right. We’ll be encouraging people to register to vote, check your registration status, and help others do the same to ensure they can vote in the upcoming elections that will impact the implementation of Project 2025. Make sure you confirm how you’ll get your ballot, what you need to do to submit it (i.e., mail or in-person polling), and educate yourself on what it will contain. Help your friends, family, and local communities get the support they need to vote this November.

2. Get Out the Vote Postcards: Activists are invited to participate in the American Humanist Association’s Democracy Not Theocracy postcard writing campaign aimed at increasing voter turnout and spreading awareness of Project 2025. Use their form to request postcards and they’ll email you details and assigned contacts from democracy@americanhumanist.org. Sending personalized messages to fellow voters is a proven method to motivate people to get to the polls.

3. Contribute to Online Discussions: Throughout the week, the Secular Coalition for America will share educational materials from our partner organizations (including the American Humanist Association) that break down the many harmful policies found in Project 2025’s playbook. Supporters are invited to share content from the Coalition’s Facebook page and participate in online discussions about Project 2025’s potential consequences. This is an excellent way to amplify our message and bring more attention to the urgent need for collective action.

4. Stop Project 2025 Tip Line: Congressman Jared Huffman launched the Stop Project 2025 Tip Line, a tool where supporters can anonymously submit information about Project 2025. This tip line will act as a critical resource for gathering intelligence on Project 2025’s secret 180-Day Playbook “Fourth Pillar,” which the Heritage Foundation refuses to disclose to lawmakers and threatens that it will lead to a “second revolution”.

We’ll also be sharing events during the Week of Action that people can join online or in-person across the country. (Include our Facebook page as a host to your group’s events so we can help promote them.) On Thursday, October 17th, 6-7pm ET, join us for a webinar titled Stopping Project 2025: A Secular Call-to-Action. Hosted by the Secular Coalition for America’s Steven Emmert and the American Humanist Association’s Fish Stark, the session will offer a deep dive into Project 2025’s plans for our nation and provide actionable strategies for resistance. Register for the free online event here.

We are excited to partner with the American Humanist Association and all our coalition members to unite more secular activists in opposing Project 2025’s agenda. As the threats posed by Project 2025 continue to grow, it is imperative for those who believe in the importance of secular government to come together. Every action, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in pushing back against Christian nationalist policies endangering our rights. Join us in this critical fight to safeguard our democracy and the rights of future generations.
