It’s been nearly ten years since Dale McGowan’s book, Parenting Beyond Belief: On Raising Ethical, Caring Kids Without Religion, came out. Since then, a few things have changed about the secular landscape and about the religious landscape of the U.S. as a whole. To reflect these changes and the wider variety of experiences of secular parents and children, a second edition of the book was recently released. Dale joins Peggy Knudtson this week to talk about the updates and what he’s learned with another decade of secular parenting under his belt.
Also on this show, Peggy talks with Noelle George about Secular Avenue, an organization dedicated to helping people escape when they find themselves in impossible situations at home.
